Light up! Battersea Power Station’s Light Festival is Back

Get ready for a brighter and more interactive version of Battersea Power Station’s annual Light Festival. The illuminating event is here to brighten up our winter nights (erm, and grey moods) from 25th January – 25th February 2024.

Discover the free light art trail with seven light art installations from acclaimed British and international artists. Shining bright inside and outside the Power Station, many installations enhance the visual experience with soundscapes and interactive elements responsive to movement. From illuminated butterflies to a giant diamond and a playable light piano or a cycling light battle, there's so much to explore!

Butterfly Effect by Masamichi Shimada, in the Circus West Village's water feature

Six ginormous butterflies have graciously landed! Their bright blue glow rises and falls against the night. At first sight, they seem to portray a peaceful, almost magical scene. Masamichi Shimada portrays how something as delicate as a butterfly can inflict such immense power. The artwork emphasizes that even if we're facing seemingly big challenges, a small act from just one person can make all the difference.
