London's Royal Parks Closed Due to Storm Ciara

Storm Hannah over West London, 26 April, 2019

If you were planning a stroll across any of the 8 The Royal Parks tomorrow (on Sunday 9 February), you'll have to take a rain check :). Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Greenwich Park, Bushy Park, The Green Park, The Regent’s Park, Primrose Hill, St James’s Park, Richmond Park PLUS Victoria Tower Gardens and Brompton Cemetery will be closed as a precautionary measure due to Storm Ciara.

The Met Office's 24-hour yellow warning for heavy rain and strong winds (50-60mph) starts at 00:00 GMT on Sunday morning. Since The Royal Parks cover 5,000 acres and are home to over 170,000 trees, for safety reasons, they'll be closed tomorrow.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for the significant population of veteran trees which are very vulnerable in such hazardous weather conditions.
